Faisalabad is the 2nd largest city of Punjab and 3rd largest city of Pakistan. It was previously known as Layallpur, this name came from By Sir Charles James Lyal, who founded the city from Great Britain in 1892. The name Lyallpur was given to pay tribute to Sir James Lyall, Lt. Governor of Punjab, for his service in the colonization of the lower Chenab Valley. But the name was changed in 1977 in honor of shah King Faisal of Saudi Arabia who made many financial contributions to Pakistan. The Clock Tower

The clock tower is popularly known as “Ghanta Ghar” is one of the famous landmarks and oldest monuments in Faisalabad, located in the center of the city. It was founded in 1903 by Sir Charles Rivaz who was the British Lieutenant-Governor of Punjab. The clock tower is round about 8 bazaars and can be seen from different directions that look like the Union Jack flag of the United Kingdom. The way of the eighth bazaar are linked together with the Clock Tower right in the center is just stunning. Each Bazaar has its importance and significance due to its unique product for sale. It is also called the symbol of Faisalabad.

University of Agriculture Faisalabad

The University of agriculture is one of the best leading universities in Faisalabad as well as of the country, and also the largest University in Asia. It covers a huge area and is full of lush green open spaces, trees, and beautiful flowers. University consists of two campuses old and new campus. The oldest Jinnah park Faisalabad is the biggest park in the city, located in the center of the city near to Serena Hotel, also called the company Bagh. It has a 4 km jogging track. Gatwala wildlife park

One of the few amazing amusement spots in Faisalabad, the park is situated 17 km of Faisalabad Sheikhupura road. Established in 1992, a huge park spread over 131 acres. It is one the best picnic spot in Faisalabad it is 20 km away from clock tower Faisalabad. Main attraction of Gatwala wildlife park is the lush green park, children’s area, Bamboo Forest, Bird Sanctuary, Crocodile Farm, Wild Life Breeding Center, camping ground, walking tracks, and two lakes. Lyallpur Museum

Lyallpur museum Faisalabad is a heritage museum, it is located on University Road in front of Faisalabad District Council and is close to District courts. The construction started in 2010 and it was completed in 2013. Lyallpur Museum consists of ten different galleries that show the ancient and modern history and culture of Lyallpur/Faisalabad. A good collection of regional historical artifacts and paintings. It is a big attraction to visit in Faisalabad.

Iqbal Stadium

Iqbal Stadium is a cricket stadium in Faisalabad, having a sitting capacity of 18000 spectators. This stadium hosted 25 tests and 14 one day international matches. It was build in the 1970,s and hosted its first test match between India and Pakistan on 16-21 Oct 1978. Previously its name was Lyallpur stadium and was renamed as Iqbal Stadium in the honor of famous poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
