Incredible Soon Valley Khushab Pakistan

Another wonder near Kallar Kahar is the Soon Valley. Soon Valley is a breathtaking panorama of natural beauty, having lakes and natural springs, lush green fields, tall trees, herbs, amazing landscapes, versatile mountains, waterfalls sanctuaries of wildlife, dense forests, and prehistoric sites and several other attractions. The valley provides a unique place to a host for migratory birds in winter. This valley is surrounded by green hills that give an awesome view. It starts from Padhrar village and ends in Sakesar which is the highest point of Salt Range. The length of Soon Valley is 35 miles and the average width is 09 miles. 

In the late 1950s the Pakistan air force selected Sakesar as the site for a high-powered radar which monitors airspace over north-eastern Pakistan, and this area was well managed by the Air Force but entry is restricted. Pakistan Television’s re-broadcasting center has been installed to provide terrestrial transmissions coverage to adjacent areas. Sakesar is at 5,010 feet above sea level. Sekesar is the only mountain in Punjab which receives snowfall in winter. The temperature of the soon valley is very pleasant in summer, and very cold in winter. It is also called Sakesar valley.

Soon Valley is situated in the northwest of Khushab District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is accessible through Kallar Kahar at the M2 motorway. It is 230 km from Islamabad and 320 km from Lahore.

Uchali Lake

Uchali is one of the famous eye-catching saltwater lakes of Soon Valley overlooked by mountain Sakaser, and one of the top tourist destinations. The scenic beauty of the lake makes an ideal place to spend your time. The lake is surrounded by mountains. Taking bath in a lake is not healthy due to the saline nature of water accept those who have certain skin problems, having a boating facility.

Uchali lake looks very beautiful in the monsoon season when its waves are up to 5 feet high from catchment water. Hunting is prohibited near the lake because this lake is on IUCN’s red list. ( The International Union for Conservation of Nature) . It is an outstanding view when you are watching flamingos flying usually seen in large flocks at Uchali lake. The beautiful sunset on the lake and as the sky changed colours makes the travel experience complete. Around 50 species of birds migrate here. These species found here include ducks, geese, pelicans, herons, coots, flamingos, bustards, gulls, and grebes etc.

Jahlar Lake

The beautiful Jahlar lake is situated near the village of Jahr. It is one of the most spectacular and charming lakes in the soon valley. In winter, different species of migratory birds from distant places come to the lake. If you want to experience a very attractive, clam, and magical atmosphere than must visit Jahlar Lake. Its water is strongly acidic, beacuse of that there is no life in the lake. There are no boating and fishing facilities unlike Uchali lake or Khabeki lake. The total area of the lake is approximately 148 acres. It is an excellent place to stay in an extremely natural and pure environment and full of eye-catching views all the way.

Khabeki Lake

Khabeki lake is also a saltwater lake in the soon valley. It is located near the village of Khabeki. The maximum length of the lake is 2 km and the width is 1 km. Khabeki Lake has many facilities for the tourist includes a restaurant, tourist information center, Boardwalk, Huts, hiking trails, Staff residence, cycling treks bird watching & sighting of several other wildlife species, the boating facility is also available here. Hunting is banned at the lake and its surrounding areas, only fishing is allowed. This lake also attracts migratory birds. It is the best picnic spot in the soon valley.

Kanhatti Garden

Kanhatti Garden was founded by Major W Whet Burn, District Engineer on 18th August 1933. Kanhatti is a sub-village of Khabeki which is derived from Kanhat, a special rock found at natural water spring. Kanhatti garden is home to stunningly beautiful waterfalls and several nature trails for tourists for hiking or just to enjoy in the beauty on foot. The plantation of the garden began in December 1934 and completed in January 1935. Kanhatti Garden has many varieties of fruit trees most of them were planted in 2011. The plant inventory includes almond, apricot, pineapple, olive, orange, and loquat trees. The wind in the trees and the chirping of the birds mesmerize you. It is home to the largest bird population in the Punjab Salt Range, spread over an area of 70 acres.

Amb Temples

Amb temples also knowns as Amb Sharif, It is a historical place in Hinduism which is located near the Ambh sharif village on Sakesar mountain in the Soon Valley. It is a complex of two temples facing each other and traces of the ruined empire are visible. This site has a lot of archeological attraction that is surrounded by a lush green mountain.
