Wonder of Pakistan | Hingol National Park

Pakistan is a country in the world that has the most varied landscape. Hingol national park is the best example of this which containing a variety of topographical features and vegetation from sub-tropical forests to arid mountains. It is one of the most captivating places to visit in Balochistan, covering an area of around 1,650 square kilometres.

Hingol national park is one of the largest national parks in Pakistan. It was declared among the most important natural reserves in Pakistan in 1988. A large area of the Park is covered with drift sand and can be classified as a coastal semi-desert. This place is a paradise for nature lovers.

Princess of Hope

The natural rock formation on the top of the mountain is known as “Princess of Hope”. This sculpture was made due to the changing weather. It is standing proudly on a mountain range running along Makran Coastal Highway. It’s so perfect that it shows to be a masterpiece of a skilled artisan.

The name Princess of Hope was given by Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie on her visit to this area in 2002 as a Goodwill Ambassador from the United Nations. The amazing sculpture resembling the sphinx of Giza.

Lion of Balochistan

Many people think that sphinx exists only in Egypt but the Lion of Balochistan is the Great Sphinx of Pakistan. It is hard to believe when we see this natural rock formation structure is naturally carved by winds and rains. This wonderful structure of sphinx waiting for your sight on the top of a mountain.

Hindu Temple

Hinglaj Mata is also known as Hinglaj Devi and Nani Mandir. It is a famous Hindu temple in Hingol national park. A temple distinctively located in a cave was found in a mountain standing in the Makran desert. Every year devotees from different regions of the country and all over the world come here to attend the April pilgrimage season.

Natural Oasis and mountains

Hingol national park is a truly amazing place to visit. This site is full of the widest variety of natural beauties. There are many spots of crystal clear water, lakes, ponds surrounded by greenery. Mud volcanos in Hingol National Park

Another wonder of Hingol National Park is a mud volcano. There are many mud volcanoes here but three major volcanos are; Chandragup1, Chandragup2, and Chandragup3. The volcanoes are an important stop for Hindu pilgrims along with the close by Hinglaj Mata temple.

Wildlife Sanctuary

Hingol national park is a wildlife hub of this province. It is home at least 35 species of mammals, 185 species of birds, and 65 species of amphibians and reptiles. Some of the most popular wildlife species found here such as Sindh Ibex, Sindh Leopard, Balochistan Urial, chinkara, Golden Jackal, Pakistan Sand Cat, Indian Fox, bird Houbara, Marsh Crocodile, Dalmatian Pelican, Egyptian Vulture, Green Marine Turtle, and Golden Eagle make this park a unique site. It is the sight of all those species which are seen nowhere else. Hingol national park is a perfect place for all sorts of adventure seekers, hikers, and photographers.
