Astore Valley, the land of Pastures, is located in Astore District in the north of Pakistan, in Gilgit Baltistan state. The Astore Valley spreads over an area of 5,092 km² and an altitude of 2,600 meters (8,500 ft). The valley is at the eastern face of Nanga Parbat, a peak 8,125m high, the world’s 9th highest mountain.
The valley is considered a trekkers paradise due to offering travellers endless trekking options. As you walk, this place will amaze you every part of it is a natural effort with beautiful lakes, greenish meadows, wild forest, massive mountains, and much more to surprise you.

Rama Meadows
Rama Valley is one of the best tourist destinations in Astore valley and is considered the most beautiful meadows in Pakistan. The Rama meadows and the Rama Lake are the most fascinating and dominant parts of Astore Valley. The Rama Valley is engulfed by forests with pine, cedar, fir, and juniper trees. The valley is situated at 3,300 meters (10800 feet) above sea level. Spring and summer are the best times to visit when the whole valley offers a beautiful view. Snow covers the valley for most of the year.
Each year a Polo Festival is held at Rama Polo Ground. The valley is also home to several species of animals, such as Ibex and musk deer. We can see Nanga Parbat from the meadows and it makes the scene more mesmerizing. This place is also used by Astore people for grazing animals.

Rama Lake
A beautiful Rama lake is located on the top of Astore valley. This high mountain lake at an elevation of 3,507 m (11,505 ft) above sea level and 4 km from Rama meadows. It is one of the most beautiful lakes with stunning views and crystal clear water. The colour of the water changed vividly with sunlight turning blue to green. It offers excellent photo opportunities.
The lake is fully frozen in the winter season. There are a few streams of freshwater coming down from Rama lake. The view of Nanga Parbat and surrounding peaks from the lake is mind-blowing. The scenery enrooted is breathtaking. PTDC motel is 4.5 km from Rama lake. This is a good place to refresh yourself.
Rupal Valley
Rupal valley is the Home of several high peaks, located in Astore District of Gilgit-Baltistan. Rupal valley is ideal for more adventurous travellers that’s mostly covered by forest and surrounded by high mountain peaks such as Nanga Parbat (the world’s 9th highest mountain).
